I got an old clamming boat from a friend for $300, with a budget of under $1,000 saved up money from my summer job I recycled mahogany planks that were being thrown out due to a house remodel to make a floor. I also painted the whole skiff, naming it DuckDive. I learned to fix the engine, with help from my neighbors and friends I managed to install a new carburetor and fuel filter. The maiden voyage was a success I was able to fish and adventure the rest of the Summer on my own fishing vessel!
