I got an old clamming boat from a friend for $300. With a budget of under $1,000 that I saved-up from my summer job, I fixed it up. I used recycled mahogany planks that were being thrown out due to a house remodel to make a floor. I also painted the whole skiff, naming it DuckDive. I learned to fix the engine. With help from my neighbors and friends, I managed to install a new carburetor and fuel filter. The maiden voyage was a success!
